Stellar worked with design partner Design Alaska to reimagine Ft. Wainwright鈥檚 Ski and Snowboard Lodge with a new 12,244 SF lodge that accommodates ski training and rental of ski and snowboard equipment for military members and their families. The exposed wood truss great room features a large fireplace and offers spectacular views of Birch Hill. Additional amenities include lockers, a full-service kitchen, and a dining area.
The facility鈥檚 subfloor is supported by 12鈥� steel piles that were placed 100鈥�+ into the ground. The second story accommodates a mechanical mezzanine and equipment platform. The mechanical room accommodates two boilers (652,000 BTU) and there鈥檚 a new 1,000 GPM pump house and 60,000 gallon fire water storage tank.
