Stellar partnered with Freshpet to deliver a major facility expansion in Ennis, Texas, using an innovative design-build approach and expert project management. The expansion features a steel-structured building with an insulated metal panel thermal envelope, two new refrigerated pet food process lines, expanded storage, receiving docks, welfare areas, and provisions for future growth. Despite challenging weather and poor soil conditions, Stellar successfully integrated the new construction with the existing facility. Sustainable features, including light harvesting, were incorporated to improve energy efficiency.

Stellar provided complete building design, partial process design, and full construction services. Key interior upgrades include sloped urethane floors, stainless steel insulated panels, high-speed roll-up doors, pedestal curbs, FRP and stainless-steel doors, and stainless-steel underground plumbing and drains. The site was further enhanced with additional parking, landscaping, and upgraded electrical and refrigeration systems. Stellar also self-performed critical scopes such as underground plumbing, HVAC, utilities, and refrigeration equipment procurement. This strategic expansion significantly boosts Freshpet鈥檚 Roll Line capacity, supporting ongoing sales growth.
