MCX Exchange Mall at Marine Corps Air Station
This design-build renovation at MCAS Beaufort included phased upgrades to the 16,000-square-foot Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) and the adjacent 6,500-square-foot fueling station. The project aimed to enhance the shopping experience while accommodating ongoing business operations. Interior renovations brought the facility up to current MCX brand standards and included updates to the food court and retail areas.
Construction was completed in multiple rolling phases with temporary walls and coordinated turnover to minimize disruption. The facility remained fully operational throughout the project. Exterior improvements included façade updates and enhancements to the fueling station. The project was funded by Marine Corps Community Services using Non-Appropriated and Appropriated Funds, and managed by U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM). Construction began in August 2019 and was completed ahead of schedule in February 2020.
